FootJoy

New golf shoes will make a difference in your swing and improve your game

If you are having trouble with your swing arc it could be your footwear. If your shoes don't fit properly or are uncomfortable, you will not transfer your weight properly. This will cause you to come off your swing plane and either slice or hook the ball. A pair of Footjoy golf shoes could be what you need to improve your game.

Women will have the same problem and the only cure would be a new pair of footjoy golf shoes or women's sandals. It's even more important for women golfers to have a good pair of comfortable walking shoes because, let's face it, they are on their feet more than men and are usually trying to cram in 18 holes before they have to make dinner for the family.

More and more of today's shoe models feature traction built right into the sole of the shoe. Knobs, pods, pyramids and other geometric shapes now are considered as important as cleats themselves in the grip equation. The idea has caught on so much that some companies have unveiled shoe models sans removable cleats.

Another common development is the use of dual-pod soles, a technology borrowed from the high-performance running shoe industry. A dual-pod sole (like the one featured on the Hi-Tec CDT at left( features independent toe and heel sections bridged by a firm arch support. This design strategically redistributes weight away from the center of the foot to the toe and heel portions. The result is better traction and stronger arch support.

Shoe technology in recent years focused on internal improvements with moisture control mid-layers and custom-fit heel plugs, today's innovations are visibly obvious.

Specifically, the modern outsole, with a combination of cleats and molded rubber nubs, has taken traction and stability to a new level with extra comfort to boot.

You can purchase ladies or men's shoes with soft spikes or the traditional metal spikes. Soft spikes or cleats are usually the best because you don't need to take them off going into the clubhouse.
